Although most of Alex’s specific projects for Sunquest are covered under an NDA, Alex has held three roles (at times concurrently) at Sunquest which are described below.

Global Process Owner, Development/Design: Enables developers company-wide through tooling and framework development. Org-wide process management and standards adoption efforts to enhance efficiencies of internal development teams. Develops automation tooling and strategies for sharing and generating code for reuse. Advises on and implements architectural changes to frontend and backend stacks for mobile and emerging platforms. Leads mobile design efforts. Creates and maintains mobile design systems for the iOS platform, including framework implementations of design patterns and automation of design system updates.

Software Engineer: Principal designer and developer of mobile applications used by nurses and phlebotomists at the point of care. Tasked to lead the transition to native mobile applications at Sunquest, and to evaluate current Product Development operational processes for areas of innovation. Develops and maintains universal UI style guide and frameworks platform development at an organizational level, and regularly works with clients at leading hospital and lab systems throughout the US to redefine workflows and processes using the latest technologies.

Industry Partnerships: Facilitates outreach with the University of Arizona and other universities as a student ambassador. Hosts tech talks on campus on topics such as Mobile App Development, Machine Learning in Healthcare, and more. Provides technical and career mentoring to Computer Science and MIS students. Aids in the facilitation of corporate sponsorship opportunities and events including hackathon and career fair activities.
