Tech Leader & Performing Musician
I lead engineering teams
and build products people depend on.
For 17 years, that's meant healthcare: clinical tools, patient apps, and member experiences that measurably improve patient outcomes.
I'm also a jazz trumpet player and have been performing on stage for two decades. Whether I'm leading engineers or sitting in with a big band, the work is the same: show up prepared, listen well, and deliver something memorable.

What I bring
Seventeen years of engineering leadership, a lifetime of musical performance, and a focus on creating meaningful products.

Engineering Leadership
Building teams that ship and fostering the culture that keeps them shipping.

How I work
I care about clarity, quality, craft, and shipping dependable software with positive impact. I stay close to the work and keep things moving.

These products are shipped across clinical, patient, and member-facing healthcare platforms, which are used by millions of people to this day.

My focus is on clarity, fast feedback loops, and removing obstacles so that teams can do their best work without any unnecessary overhead.

I stay technical enough to be useful, close enough to the work to know what's actually happening.

Where I've worked
01
A look at where I've been
Leadership roles in healthcare technology and performances on stages I never expected to reach.
My approach is simple:
understand the problem deeply, build the right team, prioritize involvement to drive impact, and deliver measured outcomes.

That's what ties everything together: healthcare apps, engineering teams, and music. The goal is always the same: to understand what someone needs and deliver it well.
I've spent my career working on products that people depend on during difficult times. This shapes how I think about everything I build. Software should solve real problems.
Teams should be places where good people do good work. When you get on stage, you'd better be ready to perform.

Don't see what you're looking for?
I'm happy to chat about engineering leadership, music, my latest startup, or anything else. Just reach out.
Any questions?
What are you working on now?
I recently left my position as AVP of Engineering at League to start a music technology company. It's still in stealth mode, but I'll share more soon. I'll post updates as things develop on my Liner Notes blog.
Are you open to new opportunities?
I'm currently focused on the startup I'm building, but I'm always open to conversations. If something interesting comes up, reach out and let's talk! You never know!
What's your background in music?
I've played the trumpet since I was a child. I trained at the Tucson Jazz Institute and competed at Jazz at Lincoln Center during high school. Our band won first place, and I received an Outstanding Trumpet Solo award. I have also performed at the Montreux and Monterey Jazz Festivals and the Grammy Awards and have recorded at Capitol Records. I still perform regularly in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona. Most recently, I played with the 17-piece Century Jazz Orchestra, and I occasionally perform solo. Feel free to reach out if you’d like me to perform at your next event. If I’m unavailable for a given date, I’m happy to refer you to some stellar local musicians.
What kind of engineering work have you done?
I am passionate about building scalable products and teams. Although I have worked in education tooling, enterprise business solutions, and, most recently, AI consulting projects, my career has largely centered on healthcare technology, including EHRs, clinical apps, patient-facing tools, and insurance member experiences. I have worked at The Diary Corporation, Clinisys (formerly Sunquest), Ontada (formerly McKesson), Sidecar Health, and most recently, League. I began my career as an iOS developer and transitioned into leadership roles, while staying close to the technical work.
Do you advise or consult?
I'm selective about consulting work to ensure maximum impact. I work with leaders to solve complex problems in enterprise software and AI transformation projects. I also coach high-performing engineering teams and develop or scale health tech products. Let's explore how we can create something significant together.
